Robot Lawn Mowers: Wire-Free Navigation, Terrain, Batteries and Ownership
Modern robot lawn mowers are becoming autonomous vehicles in miniature. RTK satellite positioning, LiDAR, cameras, cellular connectivity and multi-sensor navigation are replacing or supplementing the buried boundary wire that defined earlier generations.

Choose for your property
Acreage is only the first filter. Tree cover, slopes, narrow passages, separate lawn zones, buildings, driveway crossings and poor satellite visibility can be more important than total square footage.

Model-level specifications matter
YRL tracks navigation, connectivity, slope, recommended area, battery, charging, warranty and maintenance at the model level. Two products from the same manufacturer can have materially different terrain or coverage limits.
Research before recommendations
We identify manufacturer claims as manufacturer claims. “Lab” does not mean every mower has been physically tested by YRL. When hands-on testing has not occurred, we say so.
