Remote-Controlled Yard Equipment: Mowers, Snow Plows and Parts

Remote-controlled yard equipment lets you steer a powered machine while it handles the cutting, collecting or pushing. You remain the operator: these machines do not replace your attention with a scheduled autonomous job. This hub helps you compare remote-controlled mowers, snow-plow attachments and compatible parts.

Compare Mowrator remote-controlled mowers

The current U.S. S1 lineup has four principal drivetrain/tire configurations. The standard 4WD listing also offers two battery sizes. Bundles are equipment packages, rather than additional autonomous mower models.

S1 configuration comparison — manufacturer specifications
Configuration Advertised maximum slope Battery capacity Claimed runtime Cutting height Buying link
Mowrator S1 2WD 45% grade / 24° 12Ah Up to 1.5 hours 1.8–4.6 inches Check exact configuration
Mowrator S1 4WD 75% grade / 37° 12Ah or 18Ah Up to 1.5 / 2.25 hours 1.5–4.3 inches Check exact configuration
Mowrator S1 4WD Wide Wheel Edition 85% grade / 40° 18Ah Up to 2.25 hours 1.5–4.3 inches Check exact configuration
Mowrator S1 4WD Grip Tread Tire Edition 119% grade / 50° 18Ah Up to 2.25 hours 1.5–4.3 inches Check exact configuration

All four are marketed with a 21-inch cutting deck. Battery listings specify 56V LiFePO4. The manufacturer advertises approximately 0.5 acre per hour under its operating conditions. Runtime and coverage vary with terrain, blade, grass height and cutting load; they are not guaranteed completion times for your property.

Grade and degrees are different measurements: a 119% grade is approximately 50°, not 119°. The larger slope ratings depend on the stated tire configuration. Do not apply a mowing slope rating to snowy ground, wet grass or a towing setup. Use the exact operating instructions and maintain a safe position with visibility of the work area.

Which configuration deserves a closer look?

The 2WD version is the first configuration to compare for less demanding terrain. Four-wheel drive adds traction options, while the Wide Wheel and Grip Tread editions carry higher manufacturer slope ratings. Choose by the measured yard, surface and operating task, rather than buying the largest advertised slope number.

The standard 4WD listing offers 12Ah and 18Ah options. Compare battery capacity and included charger before placing an order. An extra battery can reduce waiting between mowing sessions, but adds cost and requires safe storage and charging.

Remote-controlled snow plowing

Mowrator’s Snow Plow Kit is an attachment for the S1 4WD only. It is not a standalone snow robot and should not be described as compatible with the 2WD mower. The listing identifies preorder shipping from U.S. and Canadian warehouses in early November 2026; confirm the actual delivery estimate.

The manufacturer lists a 31.5-inch blade, horizontal adjustment from −20° to 20°, and a lift range of 0–5.5 inches. Its pre-use guidance specifies a maximum driving snow depth of 10cm, a 20° slope on snowy ground and a 30° slope on hard ground. Those limits differ from the mower’s grass slope ratings.

Snow type matters. The published guidance distinguishes loose powder, compacted snow and slush, and does not recommend frozen snow. Firmware updates are required before use. Confirm surface suitability, traction equipment, space for snow piles and the exact manual before ordering.

Replacement parts, accessories and bundles

Start with the mower’s serial number, battery version and installed component. A similar-looking blade or tire is not proof of compatibility. Use official instructions for replacement work; do not assume that every S1 accessory fits every task or configuration.

  • Self-sharpening mowing blades: Manufacturer lists S1 compatibility; verify the installed blade and mounting hardware.
  • Mulching blades: Choose the mowing or leaf-collection blade specified for your exact S1 setup.
  • Auto Dumping Bag: Manufacturer lists S1 Series compatibility and 70-litre capacity.
  • MOWFUN FPV: Camera/control accessory, not an autonomous-driving upgrade; confirm device compatibility and operating instructions.
  • 18Ah replacement battery: Official S1 56V LiFePO4 battery; confirm the machine version and charger.
  • Trailer Hitch Kit: Confirm fit, permitted towing load and terrain guidance for your machine before ordering.
  • 12Ah replacement battery: Official S1 56V battery listing; confirm exact battery/charger compatibility.
  • All accessories and parts: Browse official tires, blade types, controller accessories and other available parts; match your exact machine.
  • Auto-Dumping bundle: Compare the included mower/battery variant and bag with buying them separately.
  • Extended Power bundle: Check the selected slope/tire version, included extra battery and current availability.

We have not verified orderable component numbers for internal drive motors, controller electronics or every charger version. Ask manufacturer support to identify those parts by serial number rather than buying an assumed match. Tires, blades and bags are ownership costs as well as purchase accessories.

Warranty and service: what the standard terms say

For residential use, the published standard warranty covers the main machine, remote control and battery for two years or 2,000 total operating hours, whichever comes first. The charger has one year. Commercial, agricultural, institutional and income-generating use are governed by a specific contract; the residential warranty should not be advertised as commercial coverage.

Consumables, including blades, tires and collection-frame components, have separate return/exchange treatment rather than the same two-year wear coverage. Damage from improper operation, unauthorized modifications, incompatible parts or batteries, and water ingress caused by incorrect use may be excluded.

Keep proof of purchase and buy through an authorized channel. The policy asks customers to record an unedited unboxing video for missing-item or arrival-damage support. Its shipping-damage reporting deadline is short, so inspect the delivery promptly. Obtain manufacturer service guidance before disassembly or shipping equipment for repair.

Temporary extended-warranty offers may appear on product pages. Confirm the written offer and coverage at checkout; they do not change the standard warranty described here. The current CJ program treats the paid extended warranty as non-commissionable.

Maintenance documentation and battery storage

The manufacturer’s current support FAQ advises checking a stored battery at least every three months, keeping its charge above 70% for long-term storage, and storing it indoors during winter. This is published support guidance, not a complete service schedule. Check the current instructions for your battery version before charging or storage.

Use the exact 2WD or 4WD manual for shutdown, cleaning, blade fastening and replacement. We have located separate manufacturer manuals, but have not yet verified every maintenance interval or tire-edition supplement. Do not substitute a general FAQ for those procedures. The manufacturer manual selector provides the model documents.

What to check before buying remote-controlled yard equipment

  • Operator involvement: you steer and supervise the machine. Camera accessories do not make it autonomous.
  • Property fit: measure slopes, passages, surface transitions and the areas you need to mow or clear.
  • Exact package: confirm battery size, charger, tires, blades, bag and attachments included in the selected listing.
  • Ownership cost: compare replacement blades, batteries, tires, electricity, service and shipping with the work the machine will replace.
  • Maintenance: follow the exact model manual for cleaning, blade inspection, fastening checks, battery charging and storage. We have not verified a complete model-specific maintenance schedule or all service intervals.
  • Remaining work: allow for trimming, access management, collecting debris and supervising the work area.

“Can I mow from the porch?”

A remote-controlled mower can reduce walking and pushing, but the operating position must still meet the manufacturer’s control, visibility and safety instructions.

“Will the mower clear my driveway too?”

The S1 4WD can be paired with the separate compatible plow kit. Check its snow, temperature, surface and slope limits. The 2WD is not listed as compatible with that kit.

“Can I set it and leave it?”

These are operator-controlled machines. For scheduled mowing, use our autonomous mower finder instead.
