Yard Robot Lab publishes technical buying and ownership information about autonomous outdoor equipment. This page explains the standards behind our specifications, comparisons and recommendations.

Source hierarchy

For product specifications, warranty terms and manufacturer maintenance schedules, we prefer current official product pages, manuals, warranty policies and manufacturer support documentation. Independent tests and owner reports can add real-world context, but they are identified as such rather than silently substituted for manufacturer specifications.

No invented specifications

If a manufacturer does not publish a value, we use Not published by manufacturer. If two official sources disagree, we flag the conflict and avoid presenting either value as settled until the discrepancy is resolved.

Hands-on testing claims

We use language such as “tested by Yard Robot Lab” only when we actually had the relevant product or component available for hands-on evaluation. Research-based comparisons are labeled and written as research-based comparisons.

Prices and changing specifications

Prices, software features, subscriptions, warranties and specifications can change. Important time-sensitive values should include a verification date where practical. Readers should verify current purchase terms with the manufacturer or retailer.

Warranty reporting

We do not reduce a warranty to its longest advertised number. Where information is available, YRL records machine, battery, charger/dock, positioning hardware, accessories, commercial-use limitations and consumable exclusions separately.

Maintenance and replacement parts

Manufacturer-recommended maintenance is sourced to the manufacturer’s documentation. We distinguish a “commonly replaced” or consumable part from evidence that a component commonly fails. A wear-part designation alone is not evidence of poor reliability.

Affiliate relationships

Some outbound purchase links may be affiliate links. YRL may receive a commission if a qualifying purchase is made through those links. We do not charge readers for using the site, and affiliate status does not convert a manufacturer claim into an independently verified fact.

Corrections

When we identify a material factual error, outdated specification or source conflict, our goal is to correct the underlying record so pages that reuse that data can be updated consistently.
