The MOVA LiDAX Pro 800 is a wire-free robot mower aimed at smaller lawns. MOVA rates it for up to 0.2 acre and slopes up to 45% (24°). UltraView 2.0 combines 360° 3D LiDAR with AI vision, so the mower does not require a buried boundary wire or an RTK reference station.

Where the Pro 800 fits

The Pro 800 makes the most sense to investigate when the actual mowable area is comfortably within the 0.2-acre rating and AWD is unnecessary. Its main setup distinction is avoiding both perimeter-wire installation and an RTK base station. Buyers with larger lawns or severe grades should compare the higher-capacity LiDAX models rather than stretching a smaller machine to its published limit.

Setup and route checks

“Wire-free” removes perimeter-wire installation, but it does not remove setup work. Choose a charging-station location with a reliable power supply, map the grass boundary and no-go areas, and watch the first runs at beds, paths, drop-offs and turns. MOVA lists a minimum narrow passage of about 23.6 inches for the Pro 800. Measure the tightest route to any separate mowing zone, not just the open lawn. A passage that barely meets the stated width may still need a practical trial with its approach and exit turns.

The 45% slope figure is a manufacturer maximum, about 24 degrees, rather than a promise for wet turf or an edge of the lawn. MOVA lists rear-wheel drive and up to 1.6 inches of vertical obstacle crossing. Check bumps and transitions separately from sustained grade: a curb, root or rut can interrupt an otherwise easy route. Keep children, pets, hoses and small objects out of the mowing area, and use our yard safety checklist before unattended operation.

Two maps are different from 150 mowing zones

MOVA advertises dual-map support and up to 150 managed zones for the Pro 800. A second map can be useful for two separate lawns or properties; zones divide a mapped area into places with different schedules and settings. Neither feature increases the 0.2-acre rated area, and a saved map does not let the mower cross a locked gate, street or disconnected strip of pavement on its own. Draw the route between front and back lawns before relying on the app’s zone count. If they are disconnected, confirm with MOVA how the mower and dock are used at each location.

Mark beds, pools, play areas and other exclusions before a regular unattended schedule. MOVA describes AI-assisted obstacle recognition, but its published obstacle count is a capability claim, not a substitute for clearing hoses, toys, fallen branches or small hazards. Watch the first complete cycle and the return to the station, then adjust the virtual map where the mower repeatedly approaches an edge or misses a corridor.

Cutting height, edges and weekly workload

The Pro 800 has a 7.9-inch cutting width and a published 1.2–3.9-inch height range. Check that range against the grass height you prefer, especially if you maintain a taller lawn in summer. MOVA describes a floating cutting system and on-boundary edge mowing, but raised walls, beds and irregular borders still need a close look: an edge feature does not guarantee that every corner is trimmed. Inspect the actual result before assuming manual edge work disappears.

The 60–80 minute runtime is a per-charge manufacturer range, not a weekly mowing guarantee. A narrow yard with many turns and separate zones may require more travel than a simple rectangle of the same area. Record how often the mower returns to charge and whether it finishes each zone on the schedule you want. If your measured turf is near 0.2 acre, compare the Ultra 1000’s 0.25-acre rating and the half-acre Ultra 2000 before treating the Pro 800’s limit as comfortable headroom.

Questions to settle before ordering

Confirm the dock’s outdoor power location, the narrowest passage and the steepest required route—including the return path, not only the lawn’s steepest open patch. Ask whether your preferred seller’s box contains the charging equipment and spare blades shown on MOVA’s U.S. listing. For later maintenance, save the mower’s full designation and original blade or cutting-disc details. Our parts finder provides tagged searches when an exact part listing cannot be verified; a marketplace search is a starting point for fit checking, not proof that a battery or disc is compatible.

What comes with the mower?

MOVA’s U.S. Pro 800 product listing lists the mower, charging station, power supply, station stakes and key, guides, nine spare blades with screws, screwdriver and cleaning brush. Confirm the exact seller package before ordering; a garage and replacement battery should not be assumed to be included. The published 4 Ah battery, 60–80 minute mowing time and about 60 minute charging time help plan a schedule, but growth, terrain and routing change actual completion time. For a yard approaching 0.2 acre, compare the 0.25-acre Ultra 1000 rather than relying on the maximum rating alone.

Warranty and ownership

MOVA’s current U.S. policy lists three years for the mower main unit/motor and two years for the battery pack. Consumable blades are excluded from ordinary warranty coverage. Verify current terms and seller eligibility when purchasing.
